Exit festival 2015.

Petrovarazdin fortress is for the last 15 years for 4 days a year the crime scene of one of the best festivals in Europe – Exit festival. More than 30 stages with all kinds of artists scattered around the big fortress, food stalls, entertainment and getting lost in the corridors and ditches are just few perks of Exit festival.

We stayed at Brankovo kolo hostel which is a high school student dorm during the year and a hostel during the summer. Thanks Supra travel! It was hot during the day but pleasantly cool during the nights.

As I mentioned before Exit festival is set on a fortress which is 10 min walk from the city center. Crowds of young and some older people from all over the world (but mostly from Serbia and UK) are walking on the closed road to the fortress. And inside is just crazy. It’s a labyrinth and at first it seems like you are forever lost and just move with the flow of other people. But no worries. They have maps, they have information stations and even big screens with the map of the whole Exit festival.

There’s a very quick payment system where you put your money on the card and then pay everything with that card – it takes only 3 seconds and makes the waiting lines smaller.

It was my second time at Exit festival (my first was 2013) and this year we mostly hung out at the main stage. I really wanted to see John Newman and Capital Cities (both were amazing!), Emeli Sandee and Clean Bandit were nice as well. I wanted to love Tom Odell and Milky Chance but for us they were too calm for the big stage. I just wanted to sit on the ground and have a glass of wine 😀 Faithless were THE mainstager of the festival but didn’t convince us and Motörhead slurred their words I didn’t understand a thing. We heard Manu Chao and Eagles of Death Metal from afar. We skipped most of the Dance stage, I’m more of a rock girl 😀

Johnny Walker stage hosted this year’s only Slovenian band on Exit festival, The Tide which we got to meet 🙂 If you want to listen to their music you can check out their page.
