Golden temple in Amritsar.
One of the highlights in India for sure. Temple covered in gold and surrounded with water or ‘holly nectar’ full of big goldfish. It is breathtaking and I won’t even try to describe it, just take a look at the pictures.
We had the nicest weather, cloudy with a little bit of sunshine, so the temple really stood out. You can really feel the holiness here. The complex is kept clean, some say that they clean the gold with milk every night and it sure is without a spot. People of all religions come to this place to pray. They also have one of the biggest free kitchens in the world, volunteers serve 10.000 people each day.
We didn’t avoid the photo requests and we also held some babies so their parents snapped some photos. The usual day in Amritsar 🙂
