Although we’ve experienced so much this year, from dirty rooms in India, trekking in Nepal and Mentawai jungle (and we love the challenge!) it’s also nice to settle down for some time. If we had the money, we would probably stay for a longer period in Ubud. Bali is a country within a country. It’s small and you don’t need much time to go somewhere, roads are good, petrol is cheap, nature is beautiful, people are friendly, religion is Balinese hinduism which is very open, beaches and mountains…

We’re enjoying the comfort of our own place very much. I’m trying out my watercolors, Mic is working on his book and of course, his online work. But we still venture out from time to time 🙂 On a rented scooter we visited a Coffee plantation on the way to Batur. They grow spices and coffee, they’re famous for Kopi Luwak – poop coffee! 😀

After our week in the jungle, we wanted to relax a little bit. We wanted to rent something in advance via AirBnB but our plan was so unpredictable that it wasn’t possible. “Who has a kitchen to rent?” So we arrived in Ubud, looking for an apartment with a kitchen to rent.
