Philippines were definitely a nice surprise with all that beautiful blue sea and very friendly people. With more than 7000 islands Philippines deserve way more than 21 days but we made a travel itinerary which lets you discover the best of Philippines in that time. Culture shock in Manila, remote dreamy villages on Palawan, interesting sea creatures and endless discoveries. Get lost in the Philippines!

We loved it!

Happy New Year! 🙂 We haven’t been posting and making pictures much because we feel so content here, in Port Barton. This is how a day looks: – 5.45: Mic slowly wakes up and goes to the beach to meditate and drinks his firs coconut. – 7.30: Mic wakes me up – 7.45: we drink organic coffee from Port Barton with our roommates listening to Pierre, the tattooed Swedish guy, talking about magic mushrooms. – 8.30: we go to eat breakfast with calamansi lemonade at the cute restaurant…

El Nido is a beautiful place. Huge rock formations in the middle of the blue water, hidden lagoons, remote islands with white sand beaches and lots of palm trees. We had luck and was only 5 (instead of 18) on the boat so we could ask for the reverse tour and avoid all the masses of tourists (we did the tour A for 700P, including lunch, excluding environmental fee of 200P). Snorkeling is nice, the corals are alive and colorful but there’s not a lot of fish. Lagoons…

Christmas in Slovenia means cold temperatures, freezing feet and burning cheeks while standing under heaters in the old city center of Ljubljana and having some hot wine with spices. Baking cinnamon cookies, Christmas lights and buying presents for family and friends. And this year is the first Christmas with hot weather and short sleeves, lights on palm trees and no family! It’s not bad but different. We did watch Home Alone 🙂 We’re in El Nido, one of the top destinations for traveling and for sure top spot…

Green lush jungle, blue clear water and white sand. Small paradise beaches like the one from Cast Away (no Wilson, tough) :). The snorkeling is decent (if you’re not spoiled by Banda islands, like we are) and you see turtles feeding on the corals. There are several options for a day trip (700P) and you can even sleep on some of the islands. We really wanted to but in the end didn’t find enough people for the price to be friendly. Meanwhile, we’re still enjoying Port Barton with…

Just a short airplane ride from Manila and you’re on Palawan, the best island in Philippines (won two years in a row, as the locals proudly say). It’s small and friendly and right now there’s a big Christmas fair going on. Food stalls with sea food, drinks and souvenirs. Enormous Christmas tree made from big lights starts shining just before the sunset so the view is just surreal. I’ve never spent Christmas withouta warm coat and hot wine so this years Christmas spirit is so different. Beer and…

3,5 hours of driving in a van, last hour on the bad road with lots of mud and we arrived in this town that backpackers love so much. There’s no night clubs, no big bars, no shopping malls. It’s tiny! People are beyond friendly and so honest that you can’t get ripped off. You still find coconuts for 0,5$ and a meal with a drink and a banana for 1,2$. It almost feels like we’re on the Caribbean, with the palm trees and lights. People here love to…
