Tokyo to Belgrade. Culture shock.

Last day in Tokyo.

Our last day in Japan started very gloomy. Our flight was in the evening and it was raining. After chech out we sat in histel’s common room and didn’t kniw what to do. Let’s go to our favorite neighborhood, Shibuya! So we roamed the streets among you g fashionable people and big shiny buildings. And there we saw a Sega buidling. One last game? Yes! It was drums, a little bit of street fighting and killing zombies. Times goes by fast and so do the 100 ¥ coins 🙂

We came outside dazed and stumbled upon a Karaoke building. One of my things on Japan bucketlist was a night at karaoke place which we couldn’t do, but I still wanted to try it. Soundproof room, couches, sound system and Mariah Carey (and Backstreet boys and Kings of Leon and the Queen etc) had us jumping on the seats and screaming till our throats hurt.

We finished our day with one of the best sushi meals in Japan, in Genki sushi, sushi go-round restaurnats.

21 hours later. Belgrade. Raw vegan paradise.

After more than 5 hours from Abu Dhabi to Belgrade, listening to familiar Serbian language we could understand (where are all the Asian?!), meeting a friendly Serbian man who sat next to us, watching people stand the whole flight talking to eachother, we stood in front of lady at information office. Waiting. She was talking on the phone. We’re still waiting. Her friend must be saying something really interesting. After  realizing we won’t go away, she moves the phone and ask us what do we want. It’s Balkan 🙂

Beograd

People hugging on the street, cursing, spitting at the bus, we realized. We are in Serbia! After the politness of Japan it was almost a culture shock 🙂 Another shoch was the fresh market in Belgrade. Peaches, plums, raspberries, melons and watermelons for such a low price, we bought 5 kg of fruit the first time. They are known for their meat, cevapcici, and milk and cheese products, but still. Raw vegan paradise 😀
